Chinese Export Silver Seal (chop?) marked Sincere for a late 19th, early 20th c Bazaar
Dealer rather than maker according to Crosby Forbes. There is a photograph of the
rubbing of the chop which appears to have monogram, above clasped hands. (see photo &
note position of the top facing thumbs). The ‘chop’ itself is loose from the handle which
owns on opposing sides incised floral decorations. Three fastening devices appear to
accommodate the practice of replacement. This owner has not attempted a separation.
